Theme- Our theme for the month will be ‘Animals’. We will be reading the book “Big Red Barn” by Margret Wise Brown. This is a wonderful book please go to the library to check it out or buy one from Barnes and Nobles. Not only do they talk about animals but it is a great book to learn about animal sounds.
Vocabulary- Some words you can focus on at home with your child are:
Animal Horse
Farm Pig
Cow Sheep
Duck
Letter of the Week: F
Number of the Week: 7
Book bag checks- Please remember to check your child’s book bag daily and take out all papers sent home.
Change of Clothes- Since the weather has changed, we are asking all parents to send in a change of clothes that fit the season. Most of the students have shorts and short sleeve shirts, which can cause them to get ill.
Snacks- We have snack every afternoon. Please send a healthy snack with your child if you would like him/her to eat snack with their peers. (We are a sugar-free school so no candy please.)
Question of the week: How can I teach my child colors?
There are many things you can do with your children at home to teach them colors. You can have them sort their socks, shirts, hats into same pile according to color; you can always use the color of an article when they are getting dressed such as “Give me your red shirt “or “You are wearing a green shirt today”. When you are driving around or walking around you can point out all the blue cars.
If you have any ideas please feel free to post a comment!!!!!
